Blogging Part 2

(SEE 'BLOGGING' BEFORE READING)

Ok, so I couldn't figure out how to put this picture where i wanted it on the previous blog because it kept going to the top, so here's part two.  This is a portrait by Richard Avedon.  It has a simple white background so the subject really stands out.  what I interpret from the expression he is wearing is that he is not someone I would want to run into in a dark alley per- say. He looks very angry and intimidating. I'm also guessing he likes tatoos. I mean, that's just a guess considering how may he has. But for all I know, he could hate tatoos, and he's really a model for a tatoo parlor so he HAS to get them. But, I'm pretty confident on this.  Overall, I like this because it tells a story of a mean-looking guy who may (or may not) love tatoos.

BLOGGING

I need to blog some more...so volia! This is me blogging. Now what I'm going to blog about.....that there is a very good question....Maybe I'll just tell you my life story...nah...you'd get bored. And besides, to actually get credit for this blog, I should probably relate it to photo. So here's an amazing portrait of my favorite person in the whole world...Charlie Brown!

Amazing. I know. What I really love about this portrait is that it really shows his emotion.  I can just tell by looking at his face that he is worried about something. The background is just so simple and really makes you focus on Charlie. And It sort of tells you a story. Just by looking at this portrait, I can interpret that some one (cough Lucy cough) is probably giving him a hard time.  At this point, he probably is reciting some soliloquy to enlighten us on his life.  It's very moving.  Not to mention that the detail in his little tuft of hair is superb.  In conclusion, Charlie Brown is perfect in every way and this portrait really shows that.

Ok that was fun but seriously now, I will actually look at a real portrait....

Assignment #4- Portraits

For this assignment- since I live at school- I wish I had managed my time better and
shot without being rushed. MY favorite one is my brother with his cello- but Slade didn't like it because "it's not a portrait" just because he's not looking at the camera. Blah. It would be a really good shot if he was. I like the ones of Muffin, just because it shows who she is in both shots. She can be really moody but then a second later be silly :). Next time I will take advantage of my spare time and shoot carefully.

Assignment #3- High-key / Low-key

This assignment was kind of difficult to think of objects to shoot that would express low-key or high-key well. My favorite image is the dice. I love how there is the really deep black, and there is also a really pure white that stands out. The high-key images were harder to refine for me, since you couldn't always get a really rich black since it was all white. Even though bracketing is extremely tedious, I think it really helped me find a good exposure to start with on all these pictures. In conclusion, I heart low-key!

My First Print

So this is my first print I made, and it was really funny because my ink was clogged, or something, so it turned out pink! It is amazing. I love it. but then it got fixed, and I printed it normally. This one looks good too, but the pink one wins by far.
